By: Ada Inman

The Centre for Global Sustainability Studies (CGSS) at the Universiti Sains Malaysia partnered with the community of Balik Pulau in 2021 with the goals of helping the community to establish a waste management programme that suits the community well, training the community on best practices of waste management toward zero waste, and increasing community awareness of waste management. Four workshops and one symposium on waste management have taken place through this partnership. To learn more about this partnership and their workshops, read the full partnership story here.

Also in the EPIC-Asia Regional Network, the Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris partnered with the Seberang Perai City Council in 2021 to create the Green Education Centre which promotes holistic and sustainable technologies for agriculture and composting.
