The Universidad de Colima’s program, aligned with the institutional mission, contributes to the social, economic and sustainable development of the state, through linking actions that involve the transfer of knowledge, participation and capacity building of human capital from different sectors, under a multidisciplinary vision and strategic alliances for the solution of environmental problems.

Through the General Directorate of International Relations and Academic Cooperation at the University of Colima, we developed an approach with EPIC-LAC. The implementation of the EPIC model is added to the program of the Sustainable Development of the General Directorate of Liaison. The Universidad de Colima is planning for a permanent program, which establishes the model’s operational guidelines that promotes new projects and applied research initiatives, which respond to the problems of the environment; that allows us to join collaborative efforts and meet our institutional objectives.

The results obtained have allowed the Universidad de Colima, as an educational institution, to lead regional projects, participate as a provider of business services and decentralized government agencies. They engage students from different areas of knowledge, and facilitate job placement of graduates through collaborative projects with national and transnational companies.
