The Town of Miami is a historic mining community situated in Arizona’s Copper Corridor. With a growing population driven by renewed mining activity, the Town is seeking to position itself as a sustainable and attractive destination for both visitors and new residents. To help realize this vision, the Town of Miami is initiating a series of recreational and infrastructure projects designed to enhance the quality of life, foster community connection, and encourage outdoor activities. Key projects include the development of a disc golf course and skate park at Bullion Plaza. Such developments which will provide inclusive spaces for all ages, as well as the construction of a pump track in partnership, designed to connect with nearby high-elevation trail systems, thereby further expanding Miami’s recreational offerings and enhancing its outdoor tourism appeal. Undergraduate students from the School of Community Resources and Development will conduct interviews with key community stakeholders and develop tourism planning and strategies for the Town.
