Sustainability Research and Innovation Congress 2026
In 2026, the Africa Regional Conference (previously the Africa Satellite Event) will serve as the primary SRI gathering for the year, marking an exciting evolution in the Congress’s global footprint. This shift allows the Africa Regional Conference to take center stage as the annual convening space for the SRI community, while maintaining SRI’s hallmark values of innovation, inclusion, and partnership.
The SRI2026 Africa Regional Conference will take place on 22-26 June 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa, and online (Plenaries).
Since 2021, the Sustainability Research & Innovation Congress (SRI) has brought together global leaders across research, government, civil society, and business to co-create cutting-edge solutions for a more sustainable future. Held across five continents, including Oceania, Africa, Latin America, Europe, and North America, SRI has become a trusted, inclusive platform for exchanging knowledge, shaping bold ideas, and driving real-world impact.
Co-convened by the National Research Foundation, Future Earth, Future Earth Africa Hub, and the Belmont Forum, SRI2026 Africa Regional Hub continues to champion collaboration across disciplines, sectors, and geographies.
