EPIC-N in collaboration with ISTIC, Future Earth Africa Hub and its Leadership Centre (FEAHLC), The National Research Foundation of South Africa (NRF), The Centre for Science and Technology of the Non-aligned and Other Developing Countries (NAM S&T Centre), and the University of Venda are pleased to invite applications for a 3-day Training programme for Early and Mid-Career Researchers.
The training will convene 25-30 participants onsite, with a similar number expected to join virtually.
🔹 Programme Objectives
This programme aims to:
– Provide a solid introduction to science diplomacy
– Explore the science–policy–diplomacy interface
– Strengthen practical skills for engaging in this field
– Apply concepts to real-world global challenges Encourage regional and international perspectives
– Foster networking and career development
🔹 Who Should Apply
This call is open to researchers who:
– Are early- or mid-career (within 10 years of a PhD or equivalent experience)
– Work on global or regional challenges (e.g. climate, health, food systems, water, energy, digital, SDGs)
– Show an interest in policy, governance, or international collaboration
– Are fluent in English
– Are based in Africa
