EPIC-LAC Seed Grants: Call for Proposals Announced

By: Ada Inman and Andrea Chavez

EPIC-LAC started 2022 with a scoping exercise to explore establishing the EPIC Model with diverse stakeholders, institutions, and programs in Latin America and the Caribbean. The exercise grounded the initial contacts with the region and provided crucial knowledge on the prospective EPIC outreach model for cultures and contexts of Latin America and the Caribbean. We finalized 2022 with a list of 30 institutions interested in implementing the EPIC Model. To keep the momentum developing in EPIC-LAC, EPIC-N announced in November 2022 a call for the submission of seed grant proposals. To be eligible for the grants, prospective institutions must register for an EPIC-N Member Commons account, apply for EPIC-N Member Certification, and submit a 5-page proposal. The announcement of grant awardees will be made in late January.

Update:

EPIC-N received 10 seed grant proposals from universities located in five countries throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. The seed grant proposals are currently under review. More updates regarding the review process will be released soon.
