EPIC-N Member Commons Updates: January 2022

To start the year off with some improved functionality for EPIC-N members, staff and web developer Travis Cunningham of Enviral.io added new functionality to the EPIC-N Member Commons. The updates are described below:
New Content Available
One change is the inclusion of the “News” and “Event” pages. Previously these pages were only found on the www.epicn.org website. Now within the EPIC Member Commons, this allows EPIC-N to share events and/or news specifically created for individuals with active Member Commons accounts. It also improves internal flow across all of our websites and media platforms which will become increasingly important as EPIC-N continues to grow the number regional networks and resources available. Over the holidays two events and seven news stories were added.
Improved Project Library Functionality
Since the start of December 2021, members like you with some support from our staff added or updated over 300 projects to the EPIC-N Project Library within the EPIC-N Member Commons. Thank you so much! Your dedication to tell the story of what you have accomplished provides support for our shared belief that the EPIC Model is replicable and valuable to communities across the globe. With the recent attention to the “Add Project” functionality the following changes have been made:
- New Instruction Manual for Adding Projects Created – View
- Search All Projects
- Added “Lead Local Gov/Community Partner Org Names” as a filter to allow users to find projects completed with a particular local government or community partner
- Add Project
- Suggested aspect ratio and width text for featured image added
- Population Target now optional field
- Added Co-Author, Course Title, Course Letter Acronym, Course Number, Project Lead Faculty, and Location fields
- Added the “Permission to Publish on the Who’s in the Network Map” toggle
If you have questions or want to suggest additional changes to any of the EPIC Member Commons, please use the “Request Support” button now found on both the www.epicn.org and the commons.epicn.org pages.
