UW-Madison’s UniverCity Alliance and AGU’s Thriving Earth Exchange partner to launch a cohort of community science projects in Wisconsin

EPIC-N brings international partner to support Community Science projects.

By Ada Inman

Following the public announcement of their partnership, EPIC-N and the American Geophysical Union’s Thriving Earth Exchange (TEX) engaged one the EPIC Model programs, the University of Wisconsin’s UniverCity Alliance (UCA) to launch a pilot cohort of community science projects in Wisconsin. UCA, TEX, and EPIC-N share interests, value the principles of community science, and prioritize furthering the practice of sustainability. The partnership will connect Wisconsin communities with scientists and technical experts and support them as they work together to tackle local challenges related to natural hazards, natural resources and climate change.

EPIC-N is excited about the opportunity to bring together the strengths of TEX and EPIC Model programs. As the pilot progresses, EPIC-N staff are observing to see if it is a viable and valuable model for future replication across the network.

  • December 2021 – Applications open.
  • March 1, 2022– Application Deadline for both Community Science Fellows and Communities
