Resilient Communities Initiative

Website | http://www.depts.ttu.edu/provost/outreach-engagement/

The Resilient Communities Initiative (RCI) is a collaboration between Texas Tech University and regional community partners — both public and private — to ensure the social and economic vitality of the South Plains and its citizens, leveraging the resources of the university with those of communities.  RCI seeks to bring together the university’s strengths in interdisciplinary research and engaged scholarship with community assets (such as communication, transportation, food, housing, schools, energy, health care, etc.) to empower communities.  Faculty, staff, and students work together with community partners not only to enhance the resiliency of our communities, but also to transform teaching and learning at the university.

RCI will begin with the following propositions/projects:

K-12 Mentoring & Tutoring: provide mentoring and tutoring services to K-12 students in coordination with area schools.

City of Lubbock Neighborhood Improvements: To begin late Spring 2021.

Area Mural Projects: To begin late Spring 2021.
